Another show bites the dust. The latest one is AMC’s Low Winter Sun. Low Winter Sun (which stars Mark Strong and Lennie James) is based on the UK 2006 mini series of the same name, with Mark Strong even playing the same character.
After initial strong view ratings when it was paired with the final 8 episodes of Breaking Bad (first episode had 2.5 million viewers), the ratings dropped dramatically come the shows final episode (600,000 viewers), I guess it was only a matter of time before the plug was pulled on Low Winter Sun. From what I heard, even though it had a good cast like this one, the writing wasn’t really that good and the show was slightly boring, so word of mouth doesn’t seem to be kind to get this show resurrected on another network again (e.g The Killing, which AMC cancelled but was then picked up by Netflix to conclude the show next year).
Mark Strong played a Detroit Homicide Detective who investigates if one of his colleagues murdered his girlfriend.
