Fargo TV Series To Air On Channel 4

TV News - Channel 4 Get Rights To Show Fargo TV SeriesYesterday it was announced that Channel 4 have picked up the rights to broadcast the TV adaptation of the Oscar-winning film Fargo.

The film, directed by the Coen Brothers, will be on the small screen starring Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman  in a 10 part series which premiers in the US in April on the FX network and then appear on Channel 4 here shortly afterwards.

Set in Minnesota, it will focus on a small-town insurance salesman preyed upon by a manipulative drifter.

Colin Hanks, Oliver Platt and Breaking Bad’s Bob Odenkirk also have roles in the MGM Television production. British star Freeman plays the role of Lester Nygaard, an insurance salesman based on the character William H Macy played in the film. Thornton plays Lorne Malvo, a character the actor described as a “mysterious stranger from out of town” at a Fargo press event in January.

I welcome the news of Channel 4 getting the rights as one, I can actually watch it on TV and also for a change Sky didn’t get an American show to put onto the Sky Atlantic channel. Here is a teaser promo below:
