We’re in the summer period where casting news will break for new seasons coming up for TV shows and Arrow has two recurring characters cast for its upcoming Season 3.

Devon Aoki will be playing  Tatsu Yamashiro, a Japanese martial arts expert who wields a deadly sword, a blade from which her codename Katana comes from. She will be the wife of Oliver’s teacher and handler for the Hong Kong flashbacks. Karl Yune will play Oliver’s handler,  Maseo Yamashiro.

I know a few people are excited at the prospect of Katana appearing in the show and, as obvious a non-comic reader that I am I’ll be the idiot for know until I do some research going ‘who?’. Though it will be interesting to see where this leads storywise for Oliver and Co in Season 3 of Arrow and if we will see either or both of the Yamashiro’s in the present day.
