The Maze Runner sequel seems to be gathering it’s ensemble as The Hollywood Reporter states that Barry Pepper and Lili Taylor have joined the cast of ‘Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials’. Coming off the announcement last month that Giancarlo Esposito was on board, THR report also says that they will also be joined by new members to the cast such as Aidan Gillen, Rosa Salazar and Nathalie Emmanuel.  They will be led by Dylan O’Brien and Will Poulter, returning in their roles already established in the first film.

Barry Pepper will be playing Vince, a survivalist who is one of the last remaining soldiers of a legendary unit called the Right Arm. Lili Taylor is playing Mary Cooper, a doctor who started a colony of survivors in the hopes of making a last stand. Wes Ball is returning to direct the sequel.

Now I have still to get around to watching The Maze Runner and while the opinions I’ve heard about the film have been more negative towards its ending rather than the overall film, I’ll admit that the actors they’re putting into its sequel has me interested through Giancarlo Esposito and now Barry Pepper. Had no idea the Game of Thrones duo Aidan Gillen and Nathalie Emmanuel had joined the cast, on a random note it’s nice to see Emmanuel breaking out of the mold for an actress that appeared on Hollyoaks to then go onto breaking out on Game of Thrones to the  point she’s now going to appear in two blockbuster films next year in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and Furious 7. I think that’s great to be honest.
