Meanwhile in catching up on news on a week and a half later, CBS and Warner Bros TV. released the first of Melissa Benoist in her Supergirl costume. The costume has been created by the same designer who did the costumes for Stephen Amell’s Arrow and Grant Gustin’s The Flash and her name is Colleen Atwood, a three-time Oscar winner for her costume design’s on Alice In Wonderland, Memoirs Of A Geisha and Chicago.
On making the costume, Colleen Atwood said:
In designing Supergirl, I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today.
In regards to the costume in question, it has very much a Man of Steel vibe to it. Also I’m not one that finds a costume the ‘make or break’ in terms of whether or not I’ll watch the how either so right now I think it’s okay. Afterall the promotion images of the costumes for Arrow and The Flash hardly set the world alight with positivity either. Maybe it’s the way they shoot the actual costume?
