Legends of Tomorrow: Falk Hentschel To Play Hawkman

TV News - Legends of Tomorrow - Falk Hentschel To Play HawkmanVariety and The Hollywood Reporter are among those confirming that actor Falk Hentschel has signed up to appear on the Arrow and The Flash crossover episodes before continuing the role in spinoff series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow as Carter Hall aka Hawkman.

Carter Hall aka Hawkman is the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian Prince who is fated to reincarnate throughout time along with his soulmate, Kendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée). Cater, like Kendra, can access the powers of the Hawk God, Horus, transforming him into the winged warrior Hawkman, with the ability to fly. The character of Hawkman has appeared on the small screen before with Michael Shanks portraying him in the Smallville series.

Legends of Tomorrow centers on Rip Hunter, a time-traveler, having seen a horrible future sets out to assemble a ragtag team to stop Vandal Savage, an immortal villain causing trouble throughout time.

Falk Hentschel is the latest addition to the cast that includes Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein), Caity Lotz (Sara Lance/White Canary), Ciara Renée (Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl), Franz Drameh (Jay Jackson), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold) and Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory/Heat Wave).

Suppose we should have seen this coming that Hawkman was coming into the frame of the upcoming season of the DC/CW universe and if they strike gold with Falk Hentschel in the role then it’ll be so good to see his backstory (and Kendra’s) unfold on the small screen. As for Hentschel in the role he definitely has the chops for it (God bless Youtube for scenes/showreels he’s done) and definitely remember him for his appearance in White House Down.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is set to premiere in early 2016.
