Can’t say that there’s any real shocks here other than Bridge of Spies coming out on top alongside Carol with the most nominations. I haven’t seen Carol yet but I did catch Bridge of Spies, liked it, but not as much as the voters it would seem. Also no inclusion of Macbeth anywhere, the only spot I thought it would’ve filled was Cinematography but it still missed out on that. Nice to see Benicio Del Toro finally given a supporting actor nomination this award season, which seems to be at the expense of Sylvester Stallone’s performance in Creed, another noticeable absentee in the nominations. Surprised to see the Minions making the Best Animated Film category, they do realise that The Peanuts Movie was not only better animation but a better film than that? She’s been nominated for both, but I think Alicia Vikander has a good shot at winning the Best Supporting Actress category than Best Actress.

We’ll find out on the 14th February who wins!
