The Tick: Peter Serafinowicz Cast In Lead Role For Amazon Pilot

TV News - The Tick - Peter Serafinowicz Cast in lead role for Amazon pilotDeadline exclusively reported last night that Peter Serafinowicz has been cast in the lead role of The Tick for the Amazon pilot revival.

This revival will be a new incarnation of The Tick with an all-new cast based on Ben Edlund’s comic book character, who is writing and executive producing the pilot (and also created the 1994 animated series and the 2001 live-action version, which starred Patrick Warburton as The Tick).

In the new incarnation, the blue-suited Tick is recovering from a memory loss and ends up reteaming with his sidekick Arthur (Griffin Newman) to fight evil. The two are surrounded by a new host of characters that include Arthur’s sister Dot (Valorie Curry).

Personally I like the choice, might not be as muscle-bound as a few have hoped (which I’ve noticed in the comments as being a negative reason for why Serafinowicz should not be cast in the role) but it’s definitely peaked my interest even more so for what tone they could be aiming for here.
