X-Men Apocalypse: Final Trailer Drops Online

Film News - X-Men Apocalypse - Final Trailer Drops OnlineJust under an hour ago, 20th Century Fox released the final trailer for their upcoming instalment in the X-Men franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse.

The premise for X-Men: Apocalypse is as follows:

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto, to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven with the help of Professor X must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

This third and final trailer for the upcoming X-Men instalment is filled with scenes we’ve already seen in previous trailers but given extra context, we’re shown that Lawrence’s Mystique is set to be at the forefront directing the young X-Men towards taking down Apocalypse as Professor X is hurt/kidnapped by Apocalypse and his four horsemen. We also get Quicksilver dropping some truth to Raven about Magneto and a certain mutants claws appearing in the final shot of the trailer. The cast includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Rose Byrne, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Josh Helman, Lana Condor, and Ben Hardy.

Honestly the trailers for Apocalypse haven’t really got me pumped for this instalment as for outside of the Apocalypse ‘growing’ scene, nothing has made me go ‘I must see this immediately’. Then again bar the X-Men: Days of Future Past’s first trailer, their trailers overall in the franchise didn’t really work for me so hopefully next month the film will work much better than what has been given to us.

X-Men: Apocalypse is scheduled for cinematic release on the 27th May 2016.
