Frequency: Pilot Given Series Order At CW

TV News - Frequency - Pilot Given Series Order At CWMedia outlets have reported that the CW have given a series order for Frequency, based on the New Line film released in 2000 of the same name.

Frequency came out on the big screen back in 2000 was set an the premise that nn accidental cross-time radio link connects father (Dennis Quaid) and son (Jim Caviezel) across 30 years. The son tries to save his father’s life, but then must fix the consequences.

The synopsis for the Frequency series is as follows:

In this reimagining of the New Line Cinema film, a female police detective in 2016 discovers she is able to speak via a ham radio with her estranged father (also a detective) who died in 1996. They forge a new relationship while working together on an unresolved murder case, but unintended consequences of the ‘butterfly effect’ wreak havoc in the present day.

Jeremy Carver (Supernatural) is Executive Producing/Writing the show while the cast includes Peyton List (Raimy), Riley Smith (Frank Sullivan), Mekhi Phifer (Lt. Satch DeLeon), Anthony Ruivivar (Stan Hope), Daniel Bonjour (Daniel Lawrence), Lenny Jacobson (Gordo) and Devin Kelley (Julie Sullivan). The show has the potential to be really good, especially in how many ways it could go with handling the consequences of the butterfly effect and another film to television reimagining has been doing well recently is 12 Monkeys, so I’m willing to give Frequency a chance when it begins its 2016-2017 slate.
