The official trailer for Hell or High Water, starring Chris Pine, Ben Foster and Jeff Bridges, has been released by Lionsgate and CBS Films.

The official synopsis for Hell or High Water is as follows:

A divorced dad and his ex-con brother resort to a desperate scheme in order to save their family’s farm in West Texas.

Hell or High Water is the second screenplay by Taylor Sheridan to be given the film treatment, with his first being last years Sicario and his upcoming screenplay getting the film treatment is Wind River starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen. David Mackenzie (Starred Up) is the one in the directors chair, with Ben Foster and Chris Pine playing the two brothers as they are being pursued by a Texas ranger played by Jeff Bridges, with a cast that also includes Katy Mixon, Buck Taylor, Dale Dickey, Marin Ireland, Gil Birmingham and Kevin Rankin. Tonally I liked the look/feel of the trailer, as it has a western throwback vibe to it and with the script being penned by Sheridan, it definitely has my attention. They may have appeared on screen in The Finest Hours earlier in the year, I get the feeling that this film will better serve the talents of Foster and Pine.

Hell Or High Water is scheduled for cinematic release on the 12th August 2016.
