Disney have released the official trailer for their upcoming animated adventure Moana.
The synopsis for Moana is as follows:
Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows exactly why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes Moana, a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana meets the mighty demigod Maui, who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity.
Moana is directed by the duo of Ron Clements and John Musker (behind animated films Aladdin and The Little Mermaid) with a cast that includes Auli’i Cravalho, Dwayne Johnson, Jemaine Clement, Rachel House, Temuera Morrison, Nicole Scherzinger, and Alan Tudyk. Must say the animation for Moana looks impressive, the mythology that looks set to be in play is intriguing enough, though with the much that is shown in this trailer I don’t think I’ll be looking to watch any future trailers as this done enough to not so too much for my liking.
Moana is scheduled for cinematic release on the 23rd November 2016.
