Lionsgate have released the latest trailer for director Damien Chazelle’s Whiplash follow-up La La Land starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.

The synopsis for La La Land is as follows:

La La Land tells the story of Mia, an aspiring actress, and Sebastian, a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.

While big screen musicals aren’t necessarily my jam, I can’t help but get excited to see this film on the big screen as it feels like a throwback to Hollywood of old. The rest of the cast of La La Land includes John Legend, Rosemarie DeWitt, Finn Wittrock, Callie Hernandez, Sonoya Mizuno, Jessica Rothe, Tom Everett Scott and Josh Pence.

La La Land is scheduled for cinematic release on the 16th December (US) and the 13th January (UK).
