Beauty And The Beast: Official Trailer Drops Online

film-news-beauty-and-the-beast-official-trailer-drops-onlineDisney have released the official trailer for their live action retelling of Beauty And The Beast.

The official synopsis for Beauty and the Beast is as follows:

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. Beauty and the Beast is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realise the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.

The trailer pretty much gives us some the of the highlights for where the film will go and end, giving us some nice cinematography and near enough shot for shot recreated scenes from the animated film into this live-action adaptation (Beast vs the Wolves). We get brief glimpses of Evans as Gaston (which seems like that could work perfectly in terms of casting) and Dan Steven’s voice being tweaked to suit the Beast did throw me off at first. I’m not entirely sold on the look of Lumerie and Cogsworth here but that could change when the film is released.  Beauty And The Beast is directed by Bill Condon and the cast includes Emma Watson(Belle), Dan Stevens (Beast), Luke Evans (Gaston), Kevin Kline (Maurice), Josh Gad (Lefou), Ewan McGregor (Lumiere), Stanley Tucci (Maestro Cadenza), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Plumette), Audra McDonald (Madame Garderobe), Ian McKellen (Cogsworth) and Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts).

Beauty And The Beast is scheduled for cinematic release on the 17th March 2017.
