Deadline reports that Tate Donovan, Katie Cassidy and Matthew Lillard have been cast to topline Devin Adair’s dark romantic comedy Grace.
Written and set to be directed by Devin Adair, the film will have us following Charlie Ellison (Donovan), a formally famous writer living in a world of faded glory and writers block whose best friend and agent, Bernie (Lillard) has spent the advance on Ellison’s upcoming novel and is being stalked by his publisher, the IRS, loan sharks and his wife. In an effort to get a first draft, Bernie sends a belligerent young woman, Dawn (Cassidy) to inspire and check on Charlie…but she has ideas of her own.
Also in the report it states that the trio will be joined by a cast that includes Mircea Monroe, Debby Ryan, Missi Pyle, Michael Madsen, Gail Bean, Annie Ilonzeh and Hugo Armstrong. Ouroboros’ founder Laure Sudreau and New Artists Alliance’s Gabriel Cowan are producing the film, which has a planned release for summer next year.
