Variety is exclusively reporting that The Crown star Vanessa Kirby is in final talks with Paramount to land one of the new lead roles for the sixth film in the Mission Impossible franchise.
Details of the next instalments plot is unknown at this time, as is the supposed role that Kirby will play if she signs up for the film, though the report does say that it is expected to be on the same level as Rebecca Ferguson’s role in the last instalment Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. Tom Cruise and executives had begun meeting with talent for the role last month and the film is expected to commence shooting this spring.
Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and Rebecca Ferguson are expected to reprise their roles in the sixth film, which sees Rogue Nation director Christopher McQuarrie return to helm the film and also pen the screenplay for it. Tom Cruise will have a producing role alongside David Ellison.
