Iron Fist: Renewed For Second Season At Netflix

Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb announced at San Diego Comic Con that Iron Fist has been renewed for a second season at Netflix.

The first season introduced audiences to Danny Rand, the heir to the multi-billion dollar Rand Corp. who returns to New York after training for years in the mysterious city of K’un L’un. Through his training, he was chosen to be the living weapon known as the Iron Fist, which allows him to channel his chi energy into his fists.

Loeb also mentioned that Luke Cage character NYPD Detective Misty Knight (played by Simone Missick) could be teaming up with Colleen Wing, though no specific details beyond that. Iron Fist is the fourth Marvel series to come out from Netflix, after Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage and compared to those shows, Iron Fist has been the least well-received critically and from viewers. Personally I still haven’t finished the show, nor have I even got to the halfway point but I am interested to see if the upcoming Defenders series will give Danny Rand a character boost. Hopefully with Misty Knight crossing over into Iron fist maybe there’ll be at least an episode or two for Luke Cage to appear.

The first season of Iron Fist starred Finn Jones, Jessica HenwickDavid WenhamJessica StroupTom Pelphrey and Rosario Dawson.
