Westworld: Hiroyuki Sanada Set To Join Cast For Season 2

Deadline is reporting Hiroyuki Sanada has signed up for a major recurring role for the upcoming second season of Westworld.


Based on the 1973 Michael Crichton film and created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the series is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin, set within a technologically advanced Wild West themed amusement park populated by android hosts.


The report states that Hiroyuki Sanada (whose credits include LOST, The Last Ship and Life) will be playing the role of Musashi, but further details of the role remain under wraps.


The first season cast included Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jimmi Simpson, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Ben Barnes, Simon Quarterman, Angela Sarafyan, Luke Hemsworth and Clifton Collins Jr. For the second season, Talulah Riley and Louis Herthum, who had recurring roles in the first season, have been promoted to series regulars for the upcoming second season and recently joining the cast are Katja HerbersNeil JacksonJonathan TuckerGustaf Skarsgård, Fares Fares and Betty Gabriel.
