Adrift: STXfilms Drama Set For June 2018 Cinematic Release

STXfilms have announced that their survival drama, Adrift, will have its cinematic release in the US on the 1st June 2018.


The film is based on the true story of a woman who sets off on a sailing trip to Tahiti with her fiance but, following a devastating hurricane, she wakes up to find her husband-to-be badly injured and their boat in ruins. With no hope of rescue, she must find the strength and determination to save herself and the man she loves.


The script has been written by Aaron and Jordan Kandell, with Baltasar Kormákur directing and the film stars Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin. The film is based on the novel Red Sky in Mourning: A True Story of Love, Loss, and Survival at Sea by Tami Oldham Ashcraft with Susea McGearhart.
