Bosch: Renewed For Fifth Season At Amazon, Season 4 Trailer Released Online

Deadline is exclusively reporting that Amazon’s longest-running drama series Bosch has been renewed for a fifth season, while Amazon has released a trailer and release date for the upcoming fourth season.

The series is based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling novels about LAPD homicide detective Harry Bosch. The fourth season (which will consist of ten episodes) is set to focus on an attorney being murdered on the eve of his civil rights trial against the LAPD and Bosch is assigned to lead a task force to solve the crime the city erupts in a riot. Bosch must pursue every lead, even if it turns the spotlight back on his own department. One murder intertwines with another, and Bosch must reconcile his past to find a justice that has long eluded him.

Head of Scripted Series at Amazon Studios, Sharon Tal Yguado said:

As Amazon Prime Video’s longest-running one-hour series, Bosch has long been a cornerstone of our scripted programming, and Prime members consistently clamor for more. We are excited to give them another season with Harry Bosch, Jerry Edgar, Grace Billets and the rest of the diverse characters that make up the Bosch universe.

Michael Connelly said:

I could not be prouder of the show we are making. Bosch is entertaining and relevant to our world today. On top of that, we have a fantastic writing staff and the cast and crew are the best. We feel we are just hitting our stride. Season four is based on “Angels Flight” and I don’t think we could have chosen a more timely story to tell.

The report also states that executive producer Eric Overmyer, who developed the series and served as showrunner for the first three seasons, will be returning as co-showrunner for the fifth season, alongside executive producer Daniel Pyne, who is serving as showrunner for the fourth season. Overmyer left to become showrunner on the third season of Amazon series The Man In The High Castle and is leaving the project once production for that season is completed.

Bosch stars Titus Welliver, Jamie Hector, Amy Aquino, Madison Lintz and Lance Reddick. The fourth season will be available on Amazon the 13th April.
