Deadline is reporting that Joseph Morgan has been cast as the male lead in the Fox drama pilot based on Dennis Lehane’s Gone Baby Gone.
The pilot focuses on detective Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro who, armed with their wits, their street knowledge and an undeniable chemistry, right wrongs the law can’t in the working-class Boston borough of Dorchester.
The project is a collaboration between 20th Century Fox TV and Miramax, the studio behind the 2007 film adaptation which saw the directorial debut from Ben Affleck. Joseph Morgan (whose credits include The Vampire Diaries and The Originals) has been cast as Patrick Kenzie, a role played by Casey Affleck in the 2007 film.
The pilot is written by Black Sails co-creator Robert Levine, who will also be executive producing alongside Dennis Lehane, with the pilot being directed by Phillip Noyce.
