Terminator: Mackenzie Davis In Talks For Lead Role

Variety is exclusively reporting that Mackenzie Davis is in negotiations to star in the upcoming Terminator reboot from James Cameron and Tim Miller.

Last year it was announced that James Cameron was returning to the franchise he once started and what made Arnold Schwarzenegger a big Hollywood action star. During that time, it was also reported that Deadpool director Tim Miller would be helming the sixth instalment. Then we learned that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton would be returning to reprise their iconic roles as Cameron has told media outlets that this next film will act as a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day…the last Terminator film he worked on.

According to the report from Variety, Mackenzie Davis (whose recent credits include Halt and Catch Fire and Blade Runner 2049) is set to be one of the new faces for this rebooted franchise, said to be in the same vein as Schwarzenegger’s robotic assassin. According to sources, Davis had been Miller’s top choice for a while, but Cameron needed to sign off on the casting. Cameron and Miller are still looking for their main protagonist that will take over for Hamilton’s character.

Terminator is scheduled for cinematic release on the 26th July 2019.
