Deadline is exclusively reporting that Monica Dolan, Rob Brydon, Tamsin Greig, Alice Low, Elliot Speller-Gillott and Earl Cave are set to star in Simon Bird’s directorial feature debut Days of the Bagnold Summer.
Days of the Bagnold Summer is a coming-of-age comedy that is about a heavy metal-loving fifteen-year-old whose summer holiday to Florida is cancelled at the last minute and now must spend six weeks at home instead with the person who annoys him most in the world….his long-suffering, single mum. Earl Cave will play the child in question and Monica Dolan will play the mother.
Simon Bird (The Inbetweeners) will be directing from a screenplay penned by author Lisa Owens. Matthew James Wilkinson will serve as producer on the project under the Stigma Films banner, Isabelle Georgeaux of Pont Neuf Productions will serve as co-producer, and James Appleton from Storyhouse Pictures will serve as executive producer. The film is based on comic of the same name by Joff Winterhart.
