Deadline is reporting that Selma Blair and Dylan Arnold are the latest names to join the cast of the film adaptation of Anna Todd’s YA novel series After.
After focuses on the journey of self-discovery and sexual awakening of Tessa, a dedicated student, dutiful daughter and loyal girlfriend to her High School sweetheart. When she enters her first year of University with grand ambitions for her future, her guarded world opens when she meets the dark and mysterious Hardin Scott, a brooding rebel.
Selma Blair (whose recent credits include Mom and Dad and Lost In Space) will be playing the role of Carol Young, Tessa’s protective mom, who disapproves of her relationship with Hardin which creates conflict in their relationship. Dylan Arnold (whose credits include Laggies and Nashville) will be playing the role of Noah Porter, Tessa’s boyfriend for the last two years who she breaks up with when she falls for Hardin.
Gallery Books has published five books in the series, which has sold over ten million copies across fourty countries worldwide. Jenny Gage will be helming the film adaptation, with the script written by Susan McMartin. The film is being produced by Courtney Solomon and Mark Canton of CalMaple Films, Jennifer Gibgot of Offspring Entertainment, and Anna Todd and Aron Levitz of Wattpad. Nicolas Chartier, Jonathan Deckter, Meadow Williams, Swen Temmel, Adam Shankman and Scott Karol will serve as executive producers.
