The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Bruce Boxleitner will be replacing Brent Spiner in the recurring role of Vice President Baker for the upcoming fourth season of superhero drama series Supergirl.
After Supergirl defeated Queen Rhea and her Daxamite army at the end of the second season, the third season focused on Kara Danvers having to battle against Kryptonian worldkiller known as Reign, who was also transported to Earth just before Krypton’s destruction. Living out her life as Samantha Arias, she remained unaware of her origins until her powers started to manifest, then becoming Supergirl’s biggest adversary. The fourth season will see Kara having to take on Agent Liberty.
It was announced earlier in the month that Brent Spiner would be playing the role of the adept and politically minded Vice President Baker, who makes for an unlikely leader, but steps up in a big way when his country needs him most. The report from THR states that scheduling issues have forced Spiner to depart the series in order to attend a family matter that conflicts with the production dates. Bruce Boxleitner’s credits include Tron, Tron: Legacy and Cedar Cove.
The upcoming fourth season also stars Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jesse Rath, David Harewood, Katie McGrath, Jeremy Jordan, Sam Witwer, Nicole Maines, April Parker Jones, David Ajala, Rhona Mitra and Robert Baker.
