Deadline is reporting that NBC is developing a spinoff to supernatural series Grimm, which finished its six season run last year.
The original series, which ran between 2011 to 2017, followed Portland Homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt, who discovers he is a Grimm, the latest in a line of guardians who are sworn to keep the balance between humanity and mythological creatures.
The untitled spinoff is reportedly set to focus on a female Grimm, building off the mythology of the original series, as well as potentially feature fan favourites whilst introducing new characters, dangers and epic new mysterious. While the report states that no actors are currently attached, the idea however is to bring some original cast members into the fold for the spinoff series.
The spinoff will be written by Melissa Glenn, who will also executive produce the project alongside Hazy Mills’ Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner. Grimm co-creators/showrunners David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf will serve as consulting producers on the project.
