Deadline is exclusively reporting that Leonidas Gulaptis, Skye P. Marshall, Stephen Friedrich, Adhir Kalyan and Mindy Cohn are the latest names to join the cast of indie romantic comedy A Nice Girl Like You.
A Nice Girl Like You focuses on Lucy Neal, an adorable, follow-the-rules, somewhat repressed, well-educated violinist who is thrown for a loop when she is accused of being too inhibited by her ex-boyfriend. In an effort to prove him wrong, Lucy creates a rather wild to-do list that sends her on a whirlwind journey of self-discovery, friendship and new love.
Leonidas Gulaptis (whose credits include Underbelly and Gala & Godfrey) will be playing the role of Grant, a handsome architect, who meets Lucy in the unlikeliest of places imaginable, which results in a comedic misinterpretation of Lucy’s true nature. Skye P. Marshall (whose credits include Black Lightning and NCIS) will be playing the role of sex expert Dr. Becker, who has her own TV show broadcast from a downtown loft. Stephen Friedrich (whose credits include Sweet/Vicious and Lethal Weapon) will be playing the role of Lucy’s boyfriend Jeff, who is the catalyst for her journey. Adhir Kalyan (whose credits include I Love Dick and Second Chance) will be playing the role of Paul Goodwin, a viola-playing architect and ‘Girl’s Best Friend’ material despite his efforts to the contrary. Mindy Cohn (whose credits include The Facts of Life and Fly) will be playing the role of Priscilla Blum, a fellow violinist in the quartet who lives vicariously through Lucy’s list.
The film is based on a true story by Ayn Carillo-Gailey, which is adapted into a feature by Andrea Marcellus, with the film being directed by Chris and Nick Riedell. Jina Panebianco, R. Wesley Sierk III, Nicholas Bogner and Melanie Greene are serving as producers on the project, with Hale serving as co-producer.
A Nice Girl Like You is currently shooting in New Jersey.
