Pennyworth: Jason Flemyng Joins Cast For Batman Prequel Series At Epix


Deadline is reporting that Jason Flemyng is the latest name to join the cast of Epix’s Batman prequel series Pennyworth.

 

The series will revolve around Alfred, the best friend, butler and father figure to Bruce Wayne. It’s stated that the series will not be a Gotham spinoff , but an entirely new story exploring Alfred’s origins as a former British SAS Soldier who forms a secret company and goes to work with Thomas Wayne, Bruce’s father, in 1960’s London.

 

Jason Flemyng (whose recent credits include Save Me and Jamestown) will be playing the role of Lord Harwood, who is described as a ‘cultured, urbane, brilliant and supremely sure of himself” with a “sadistic, cruel nature [with] a veneer of charm’.

 

Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller will be writing and executive producing the series, reuniting him with Danny Cannon, who will also executive produce as well as direct the pilot.

 

Jason Flemyng will be joining a cast that includes Jack BannonBen AldridgeRyan FletcherHainsley Lloyd Bennett and Paloma Faith.
