Deadline is reporting that Christian Isaiah is the latest name to join the cast of STXfilms action thriller 17 Bridges.

The film follows a disgraced NYPD Detective who, after being thrust into a citywide manhunt for a cop killer, is given a shot at redemption. When the search intensifies, extreme measures are taken to prevent the killers from escaping Manhattan as the authorities close all 17 bridges to prevent any entry or exit from the iconic island.

The report states that Christian Isaiah (whose credits include Shameless and Dead Women Walking) will be playing the younger version of Chadwick Boseman’s character. Isaiah will be joining a cast that includes Chadwick Boseman, J.K Simmons, Sienna Miller, Taylor Kitsch, Stephan James and Jamie Neumann.

The film is being produced by The Russo Brothers, with the script written by Adam Mervis and Brian Kirk attached to direct. The Russo Brothers will be producing with Chadwick Boseman and his writing producing partner Logan Coles. Mike Larocca will serve as executive producer under the AGBO banner. STXfilms’ Drew Simon and Kate Vorhoff will oversee the production of the film.
