Deadline is exclusively reporting that Al Pacino is nearing a deal to make his episodic television debut in Amazon’s upcoming drama series The Hunt.
Inspired by real-life events, The Hunt revolves around a group of Nazi hunters living in New York in 1977. The Hunters, as they’re known, have discovered that hundreds of high ranking Nazi officials are living among us and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the U.S. The eclectic team of Hunters will set out on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans.
If Al Pacino signs up for the series, he’ll be playing the Nazi hunter who mentors Jonah Heidelbaum (Logan Lerman), who, when his grandmother is slain by a mysterious intruder in their apartment, sets out to track the culprit only to find himself swept up in the mysterious organisation known as The Hunt, a group of justice-seeking individuals dedicated to rooting out the Nazi murderers living in the U.S. under assumed identities.
The ten-episode drama is created and written by David Weil, while Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions are producing the project with Sonar Entertainment. Nikki Toscano will serve as showrunner and executive producer on the series.
