City On A Hill: Sarah Shahi Joins Cast For Drama Series At Showtime

Deadline is exclusively reporting that Sarah Shahi has signed up for a key recurring role in Showtime’s upcoming crime drama series City On A Hill.

City On A Hill, said to be based on an original idea by Ben Affleck, is set in early 1990’s Boston when the city was rife with violent criminals emboldened by local law enforcement agencies in which corruption and racism was the norm, until it suddenly all changed. The drama is set to be a fictional account of what was called the ‘Boston Miracle’. Driving that change is assistant district attorney Decourcy Ward, who comes from Brooklyn and forms an unlikely alliance with a corrupt yet venerated FBI agent in Jackie Rhodes. Together, they take on a family of armoured car robbers from Charlestown in a case that grows to involve, and ultimately subvert, the entire criminal justice system of Boston.

Sarah Shahi (whose credits include Person of Interest and Reverie) will be recurring as Rachel Behnam, a street-smart investigator for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.

The series is written by Chuck MacLean, with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon serving as executive producers alongside MacLean as well as Michael Cuesta, Jennifer Todd for Pearl Street Films and James Mangold. Kevin Bacon will be serving as co-executive producer on the series.

City On A Hill stars Aldis Hodge, Kevin Bacon, Jonathan Tucker, Mark O’Brien, Jill Hennessy, Lauren E. Banks, Amanda Clayton, Kevin Chapman, Jere Shea and Kevin Dunn.
