Wu Assassins: Li Jun Li Joins Cast For Netflix Martial Arts Drama Series

Deadline is reporting that Li Jun Li is the latest name to join the cast of Netflix’s martial arts drama series Wu Assassins.


Wu Assassins is set in San Francisco’s Chinatown, set to have supernatural elements in a martial arts crime series setting. Iko Uwais will star as Kai Jin, a man who becomes the latest and last Wu Assassin chosen to round up the powers of an ancient triad and restore balance once again. Byron Mann will star as Uncle Six.


Li Jun Li (whose credits include Quantico and The Exorcist) will be playing the role of Jenny Wah, who on the surface, is a confident young businesswoman with an MBA. Scratch the surface, the noisy wheels of ambition crank a darker nature, and the need to overcompensate.


The series is being written by John Wirth (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Falling Skies) and were serve as showrunner.  The project also hails from Tony Krantz of Flame Ventures and Nomadic Pictures. Stephen Fung (Jump and Into The Badlands) will direct the first two episodes, with Tony Krantz helming the rest. Iko Uwais will also serve as producer, lead martial arts/fight choreographer and stunt coordinator on the series. Krantz will serve as executive producer alongside Nomadic Pictures’ Oakes and Frislev.


Li Jun Li will be joining a cast that also includes Katheryn WinnickLewis TanTommy FlanaganTzi MaJuJu ChanMark DacascosLawrence Kao and Celia Au.
