Arrow: Eighth Season To Be Final Season

Stephen Amell took to social media to announce that the recently announced eighth season of Arrow will be the final season of the series, consisting of ten episodes.

Arrow focuses on DC character Oliver Queen, who returns to Star City/Starling City after being stranded on a hostile island for five years and returns home to fight crime and corruption as a secret vigilante. The seventh season sees Oliver dealing with life as an incarcerated man, and Ricardo Diaz recruits the legendary group of assassins, the Longbow Hunters, to exact his revenge on Oliver and the team after they took down his burgeoning criminal empire in Season 6.

Executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Beth Schwartz, released a statement saying:

This was a difficult decision to come to, but like every hard decision we’ve made for the past seven years, it was with the best interests of Arrow in mind. We’re heartened by the fact that Arrow has birthed an entire universe of shows that will continue on for many years to come. We’re excited about crafting a conclusion that honors the show, its characters and its legacy and are grateful to all the writers, producers, actors, and — more importantly — the incredible crew that has sustained us and the show for over seven years.
