Deadline is exclusively reporting that Jonathan Good, also known as former WWE wrestler Dean Ambrose, is the latest name to join the cast of MMA sports drama Cagefighter.
Cagefighter focuses around mixed martial arts champions Reiss who unexpectedly loses a heavily promoted match. A downward spiral sends him to the brink of losing his wife and his best friend and agent. Deemed erratic and out of control, he alienates his long-time trainer and the biggest MMA promoter in the business. He must dig deep to find a path back to victory.
The report doesn’t state what role Good will have in the film (who his IMDB page states Randy Stone), whose previous acting credit was 12 Rounds 3: Lockdown.
The film is being written and directed by Jesse Quinones, who will also serve as a producer on the project alongside Lorianne Hall under the Woolfcub Productions banner and Terry Bird from Norton Place Pictures. Also producing are Trilight Entertainment’s Shayne Putzlocher and Anamorphic Media’s Sara Shaak. former WWE wrestler Jay ‘Christian’ Reso will serve as executive producer.
Good will join a cast that includes Michael Jai White, Gina Gershon, Josh Herdman, Michelle Ryan and Jason Maza, with cameos expected from MMA fighters Anderson Silva, Georges St. Pierre, Alexander Gustafsson, Dan Hardy and Tyron Woodley.
