The Passage: Cancelled After One Season At Fox

Media outlets are reporting that Fox have cancelled vampire drama series The Passage after one season.

Based on the novels by Justin Cronin, The Passage focuses on Project Noah, a secret medical facility where scientists are experimenting with a dangerous virus that could lead to the cure for all disease, but also carries the potential to wipe out the human race. Federal Agent Brad Wolgast is tasked with bringing in ten-year-old Amy Bellafonte, a potential test subject who may hold the key to a cure, though ultimately Wolgast becomes her surrogate father and tries to protect her at any cost against Project Noah. Meanwhile a dangerous new race confined within the walls of Project Noah begin to test their own powers, inching one step closer to an escape that could lead to an unimaginable apocalypse.

The series was created by Liz Heldens and served as executive producer alongside Matt Reeves, Scott Free and 20th Century Fox TV.

The Passage starred Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Saniyya Sidney, Jamie McShane, Caroline Chikezie, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Brianne Howey, McKinley Belcher III, Henry Ian Cusick and Vincent Piazza.
