Deadline is reporting that Netflix have given a series order for the TV adaptation of Mark Millar’s comic book series The Magic Order, with James Wan and Lindsey Beer attached to serve as executive producers.
The story goes that five families of magicians sworn to protect our world must battle an enemy who’s picking them off one by one. By day they live among us as our neighbours, friends and co-workers, but by night they are the sorcerers, magicians and wizards that protect us from the forces of darkness…unless the darkness gets them first.
The report states that James Wan will direct the debut episode, whilst Lindsey Beer will serve as writer and showrunner on the series based on Millar’s comic published by Netflix. The series was created by Mark Millar and illustrated by Olivier Coipel, based on the designs created by the team at Netflix. The first issue of the series was the highest-selling new comic book launch in almost twenty years.
James Wan will be executive producing under his Atomic Monster banner, with Michael Clear also executive producing. Rob Hackett will serve as co-executive producer.
