Deadline is exclusively reporting that Kingsley Ben-Adir is the latest name to join the cast of Hulu’s television series adaptation of High Fidelity.
The High Fidelity feature (based on the Nick Hornsby’s novel) focused on a thirty-something record store owner named Rob who is facing a mid-life crisis when he current girlfriend Laura, leaves him because he hasn’t changed since they met. He reviews his top five worst breakups and as he recalls each breakup, he reconnects with the women on the list to find out why they dumped him.
Kingsley Ben-Adir (whose credits include The OA: Part II and Peaky Blinders) will be playing the role of Russell ‘Mac’ McCormack. He’s charming, worldly, intelligent — though not at all pretentious — and was Rob’s most serious boyfriend. Everything seemed to be great, then one day he moved to London, and a year later Rob is still getting over it. But Mac may not be gone from her life for good.
The project is being written by Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka, and will executive produce alongside Kravitz, Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg.
The series will consist of ten episodes.
