At the Arrow panel at San Diego Comic Con, it was revealed that Charlie Barnett has signed up to join the cast as a series regular playing the role of John Diggle, Jr. and at the panel they also released a trailer for the upcoming final season of the superhero drama series.
Arrow focuses on DC character Oliver Queen, who returns to Star City/Starling City after being stranded on a hostile island for five years and returns home to fight crime and corruption as a secret vigilante. The seventh season sees Oliver dealing with life as an incarcerated man, and Ricardo Diaz recruits the legendary group of assassins, the Longbow Hunters, to exact his revenge on Oliver and the team after they took down his burgeoning criminal empire in Season 6.
The report from Deadline states that Charlie Barnett will be playing the role of the Flashpoint-born son of John Diggle and Lyla Michaels. We meet J.J. in the future as the leader of the Deathstroke Gang, where he faces off against Mia and his adopted brother, Connor. Fans first learned of John Diggle’s other son following last season’s introduction of next-gen vigilantes Mia Smoak and Connor Hawke.
The upcoming final season of Arrow stars Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Rick Gonzalez, Juliana Harkavy, Colton Haynes, Joseph David-Jones, Katherine McNamara, Ben Lewis, Charlie Barnett, Katie Cassidy Rogers, Andrea Sixtos and LaMonica Garrett.
