At the Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic Con, it was revealed that the Disney+ series Hawkeye will appear on the streaming service in Fall 2021 and will introduce audiences to Kate Bishop.
The series will explore Clint Barton’s time as Ronin after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, whilst also being a mentor to Kate Bishop, who in the comics takes up the mantle of Hawkeye as well.
Speaking to the crowd at Hall H, Jeremy Renner said:
What I get to do in the show ultimately is shepherd an amazing character, ultimately a better version of me and the sentiment of that is the fiber of what Hawkeye is, at least what I think Hawkeye is — a superhero without superpowers and I get to teach someone else to be a superhero without super powers.
While there was no casting announcing for Kate Bishop, I can definitely see the series being a passing of the torch from Clint to Kate in order to make a continuation of the series or bring her into the big screen fold after this series airs in 2021.
