The OA: Drama Series Cancelled After Two Seasons At Netflix

Media outlets are reporting that Netflix have cancelled the Zal Batmanglij and Brit Marling drama series The OA after two seasons.

Cindy Holland, VP of Original Content at Netflix, released a statement saying:

We are incredibly proud of the 16 mesmerising chapters of he OA, and are grateful to Brit and Zal for sharing their audacious vision and for realizing it through their incredible artistry. We look forward to working with them again in the future, in this and perhaps many other dimensions.

Brit Marling took to her Instagram to talk about the experience of the show in a letter that’s worth checking out.

The series focused on Prairie Johnson, an adopted blind woman who goes missing for seven years. When she suddenly turns up alive, she can see, has unexplained scars on her back, and refers to herself as the OA. Rather than explains things to her parents or the authorities, she reveals her secrets to some locals and gives them her life story. Ultimately, she seeks their help in finding other missing people.

The OA starred Brit Marling, Jason Isaacs, Emory Cohen, Scott Wilson, Alice Krige, Patrick Gibson, Brandon Meyer, Brandon Perea, Ian Alexander, Phyllis Smith, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Sharon Van Etten, Will Brill, Chloë Levine, Paz Vega, Irene Jacob, Vincent Kartheiser, Sheila Vand and Riz Ahmed.
