Deadline is exclusively reporting that Sam Littlefield is the latest name to join the cast of The CW’s DC superhero drama series Batwoman.
Batwoman first began appearing in DC Comics universe back in Detective Comics #233 in 1956, where she was originally introduced as a love interest for Batman. Since then, she’s appeared in various animated series and films, such as Batman: The Brave and the Bold back in 2008, Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman film in 2002 and Batman: Bad Blood in 2016. The modern version of the character is portrayed by Kate Kane, who was reintroduced to audiences in 2006 as a lesbian and of Jewish descent.
The premise for the series is as follows:
Batwoman revolves around Kate Kane, who, armed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind, soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet…in a city desperate for a saviour, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.
Sam Littlefield (whose credits include The Leftovers and The Messengers) will be playing the role of a character nicknamed Mouse, who is a dynamic figure working for Alice and the Wonderland Gang.
