Cowboy Bebop: Elena Satine Joins Cast For Live-Action Netflix Series

Variety is reporting that Elena Satine is the latest name to join the cast of Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular anime series Cowboy Bebop.

The animated series, which originally aired in 1998 consisting of twenty-six episodes, focused on Spike Spiegel and his fellow group of bounty hunters (Jet Black, Faye Valentine and Radical Ed), known as cowboys, jumping around the galaxy attempting to capture bad guys and survive some of the most intense dangers the galaxy has to offer.

Elena Satine (whose credits include The Gifted and Strange Angel) will be playing the role of Julia. With a sultry beauty and a voice to die for, she is the dreamlike object of Spike Spiegel’s desire. She struggles to survive in a violent world.

The live-action adaptation hails from Tomorrow Studios, who have been developing the project since June 2017, when it was originally a joint venture with ITV Studios, which became a co-production instead with Netflix since November last year. Alex Garcia Lopez will be directing the first two episodes, with Christopher Yost writing the script for the first episode and Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg of Midnight Radio will serve as showrunners and executive producers on the series. Shinichiro Watanabe, director of the anime series, will serve as a consultant on the live-action series.

Satine will join a cast that includes John Cho, Mustafa Shakir, Daniella Pineda and Alex Hassell.

Cowboy Bebop will consist of ten episodes.
