The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Luke James, La La Anthony and Lil Rel Howery have signed up for recurring roles in the upcoming third season of Showtime drama series The Chi, which sees Justin Hillian the new showrunner for the series.
The Chi s a coming-of-age story focusing on a group of residents who become linked by coincidence but bonded by the need for connection and redemption on the city’s South Side.
Luke Jakes (whose credits include Star and Little) will be playing the role of Victor ‘Trig’ Taylor, Jake’s estranged older brother who takes an unconventional approach to reuniting with his family.
La La Anthony (whose credits include Power and BH90210) will be playing the role of Dominique ‘Dom’ Morris, a savvy businesswoman who dreams of more lucrative opportunities.
Lil Rel Howery (whose credits include Bird Box and Get Out) will be playing the role of Zeke Remnick, the owner of Sonny’s building, who cares more about the bottom line than the community.
The Chi stars Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Jacob Latimore, Alex Hibbert, Yolonda Ross, Tiffany Boone, Armando Riesco, Byron Bowers, Sonja Sohn, Jahking Guillory and Birgundi Baker.
