Deadline is reporting that Zoe Kravitz is the latest name to join the cast of Matt Reeves’ upcoming feature The Batman.
Matt Reeves was brought on board the project back in February 2017, taking over the reigns of directing the film that Ben Affleck was originally set to direct based on a script he wrote with Geoff Johns. Since then, Reeves has been adapting the script for The Batman along with Ben Affleck, upon which Affleck revealed in January that he wouldn’t be reprising the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman for Reeves’ version.
Zoe Kravitz (whose credits include Big Little Lies, the Divergent and Fantastic Beasts franchises, as well as The Lego Batman Movie as Catwoman) will be playing the role of Selina Kyle, who is also known as Catwoman.
The film is co-written by Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin. Zoe Kravitz joins a cast that includes Robert Pattinson and Jeffrey Wright, whilst Jonah Hill is still in talks to join in a villain role.
The Batman is scheduled for cinematic release on the 25th June 2021.
