Lord Of The Rings: Maxim Baldry Joins Cast For Amazon Series

Collider is exclusively reporting that Maxim Baldry is the latest name to join the cast of Amazon’s upcoming epic fantasy series adaptation of Lord Of The Rings.

The synopsis for the upcoming series, tweeted by the official twitter page for the series (along with a map) is as follows:

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them, In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. Welcome to the Second Age.

In the Tolkien mythology, the Second Age was the time in which the Rings of Power, including Sauron’s One Ring, came into existence.

Much like the rest of the casting announcements so far, Maxim Baldry’s (whose credits include Hollyoaks and Years And Years) role is being kept under wraps. He’ll join a cast that includes Markella Kavenagh and Will Poulter.

The Lord of the Rings series is being developed by J.D Payne and Patrick McKay, with Bryan Cogman serving as consultant on the project and J.A Bayona attached to direct multiple episodes.
