IGN is exclusively reporting that Stephen Lobo will be appearing in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover event Crisis On Infinite Earths as Jim Corrigan, the human host of the powerful cosmic entity known as the Spectre, while Entertainment Weekly have exclusively revealed the first look of the crossovers main villain the Anti-Monitor.
Crisis On Infinite Earths is the followup event to last years crossover Elseworlds, where Arkham Asylum doctor John Deegan rewriting reality, which results in Oliver and Barry swapping lives. In this new reality, the two heroes are the only ones that know that they are in the wrong lives and have each other’s powers.
Crisis On Infinite Earths is set to follow in the footsteps of Marv Wolfman and George Pérez’s comic, in which it was revealed that the Monitor and the Anti-Monitor have been around since the creation of the multiverse and represent the positive matter and anti-matter universes. Millions of year ago, they waged a war that knocked them both unconscious until Pariah’s experiments on the multiverse woke them up. As the Anti-Monitor started consuming positive matter universes, which increased his power, the Monitor recruited Earth’s heroes and villains to fight him and prevent the destruction of the multiverse.
Stephen Lobo (whose credits include Continuum and Snowpiercer) will be playing the role of Jim Corrigan, a mortal human bonded to the Spectre, a powerful supernatural avenger. That bond is intended to give the so-called ‘Spirit of Vengeance’, a conscience and a better perspective on mortal affairs. It’s unclear whether Lobo will appear as The Spectre himself, though given the character’s role in the Crisis On Infinite Earths comic, it’s a possibility.
Executive Producer, Marc Guggenheim, teased:
Fans of the Crisis on Infinite Earths comic know the Spectre plays a pivotal role. We’re thrilled Stephen is our Jim Corrigan.
