Deadline is reporting that Lee Pace and Jared Harris have been cast in lead roles for the upcoming Apple TV+ drama series Foundation, based on Isaac Asimov’s sci-fi novel trilogy.
The series is set to chronicle the epic saga of The Foundation, a band of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it.
Lee Pace (whose recent credits include Captain Marvel and Halt and Catch Fire) will be playing the role of Brother Day, the current Emperor of the Galaxy. Jared Harris (whose recent credits include Chernobyl and Carnival Row) will be playing the role of Hari Seldon, a mathematical genius who predicts the demise of the empire.
The ten-episode series hails from David Goyer, Josh Friedman and Skydance TV. David Goyer serves as showrunner, as well as executive producer on the project alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross. Josh Friedman and Robyn Asimov, Isaac’s daughter, also serve as executive producers on the series.
