HBO Max announced during their big content presentation in Burbank this evening that they’ve teamed up with producer Greg Berlanti in developing two new potential series for the streaming service, one of which is focusing on the Green Lantern.
The other DC project is an anthology series titled Strange Adventures, which explores characters across DC Comics. It will be an hour-long drama that will explore closed-ended morality tales about the intersecting lives of mortals and superhumans. Sarah Schechter will be executive producing the project alongside John Stephens, while Charlie Huston will produce and Selwyn Seyfu Hinds will serve as consulting producer.
In regards to the Green Lantern project, the details so far are being kept under wraps.
Greg Berlanti released a statement saying:
Both of these original DC properties we’ll be creating for HBO Max will be unlike anything seen on television. An anthology series of cautionary tales set in a world where superpowers exist, and, in what promises to be our biggest DC show ever made, we will be going to space with a Green Lantern television series, but I can’t reveal any more about that just yet.
It’ll be interesting to finally see a live-action Green Lantern series, though at this point i’ll believe it when we see it.
