Halo is set in the 26th Century, where humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant are at war, told primarily through the eyes of Master Chief. Halo will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.
Danny Sapani (whose credits include Penny Dreadful and Harlots) will be playing the role of Captain Jacob Keyes, a dedicated military man, a war hero and a caring father. He finds that working alongside his daughter and his ex-wife is usually the cause of conflict rather than comfort.
Olive Gray (whose credits include Home From Home and Teen Spirit) will be playing the role of Dr. Miranda Keyes, a brilliant UNSC Commander who is dedicated to understanding the technology, language and culture of the Covenant, but she’ll have to learn to navigate the politics of the UNSC to get what she wants.
Charlie Murphy (whose credits include Love/Hate and Peaky Blinders) will be playing the role of Makee, an orphaned human who was raised by the alien Covenant and shares their contempt for humanity.
The Halo series has been in lengthy pre-production, with Rupert Wyatt originally attached to direct a few episodes and serve as executive producer, but then departed the project in December last year. His replaced, Otto Bathurst, was officially announced last month, along with the news that the initial ten-episode series order was now trimmed down to nine for creative reasons.
Kyle Killen and Steven Kane serve as co-showrunners, with Scott Pennington, Amblin TV’s Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank serving as executive producers.
