Pathé have released the official trailer for the upcoming drama-comedy Misbehaviour, set during the 1970 Miss World competition in London.
The 1970 Miss World competition was during a time when Miss World was at its peak, watched by more than 100m viewers. Claiming that beauty competitions demeaned women, the newly-formed Women’s Liberation Movement achieved overnight fame when they invaded the stage and disrupted the live broadcast. When the show eventually resumed, the result sparked uproar as the winner was not the favourite Sweden….but Miss Grenada, the first black woman to be crowned Miss World.
The film is written by Gaby Chiappe and Rebecca Frayn, with Philippa Lowthorpe directing, and stars Keira Knightley, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jessie Buckley, Greg Kinnear, Lesley Manville, Keeley Hawes, Rhys Ifans, Phyllis Logan, Suki Waterhouse, Clara Rosager, Loreece Harrison, Emma Corrin, Collett Collins, Emily Tebbutt, Monica Sarup, Delly Allen, Taina Haines, Emma D’Arcy, Ruby Bentall, Alexa Davies, John Hefferman and Mya Kelly.
Misbehaviour is scheduled for cinematic release on the 13th March 2020.
